Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak!

Remember that time I performed a “Les Miserables” melody with my theatre ensemble and I got to play Enjolras because I was one of the only high schoolers to show up that day?

(We weren’t fist pumping, I just didn’t have the banner yet lololol)

The beginning of my long, illustrious career of playing my favorite male roles.
God, this was a fun day. Those tiny kids performed the crap out of “Do You Hear the People Sing.” Teaching fifth graders about the French Revolution=good tiems.

can we just talk about the little rock nine

I’m a not-so-secret history nerd, and this may come off as “white girl gets weirdly emotional about segregation for no reason” but I just had to do some coursework about the legal climate surrounding the famous events in Little Rock, Arkansas in the late fifties, and I remembered HOW MUCH I LOVE THE LITTLE ROCK NINE.

Look at these kids. Alls they want is their education and ain’t no racist bigots gonn take away their rights.

Basically people PICKETED AND FORMED ANGRY MOBS in front of their high school because they didn’t want integration, and these motherfuckin’ baddasses were like fuck you I’m comin’ to school goddammit. When the local government had the motherfuckin’ National Guard standing outside the school doors to keep them out (even though that was totes illegal), THEY STILL SHOWED UP AND TRIED TO GET IN.

racist bigots to the left ain’t nobody got time for inequality UGH THIS IS THE FIFTIES BUT I CAN JUST FEEL THEIR SWAG

When the governor of Arkansas finally got his shit together (only sort of) and had the military officials on the Nine’s side, they snuck in their high school through a freakin’ side door honestly sometimes I really don’t want to get out of bed and go to school and then I just remember these stone cold badasses and how hard they fought for equality and I think goddamn I can handle school today even if it’s just to honor the generations that had to fight for their right to learn.

BUT, by far my favorite picture of these events has to be:

GIVES ZERO FUCKS. Look at that woman in the background screamin’ her dainty little lungs out, probably with ignorant slurs and what not, and this brave high school student JUST KEEPS WALKIN’ apdfjkasdlk God. I get really emotional about this. Four for you, Little Rock Nine, you go Little Rock Nine.

So I guess what I’m trying to say if there’s things that piss you off about “society” as a whole, just whip your hair back and forth like these brave kids, fight for your rights, AND GIVE ZERO FUCKS. Change is possible :’)

pitch perfect was funny but i had a huuuge problem with beca
